Our First Stiches

Bodee was playing in the empty irrigation ditch Thursday looking for sea shells. He apparently decided shoes were not needed and stepped on some nice person's who decided to throw it out the window broken beer bottle. He sliced right between his little toes open. I immediately cleaned it up and gave him some meds. We later went over to doctor Jody's to see if she had something to put on it. She opened it all the way up and we decided it was very deep and needed stitches. We raced up to the Instacare and waited and waited to be seen. I just have to give a big shout out to the Instacare in Roy. I just love it there. It takes about three hours to be seen when my car is the only one in the parking lot and there are three doctors on duty. Okay all my sarcasticness is gone! Bodee's cut was pretty bad and they were even concerned that it might have gotten a tendon but they said it just missed one. They cleaned it up and the horror of lidocaine began. It was pretty traumatic. But when the doc started stitching Bodee was a champ! He was so brave and I was so proud of him. After we were done we had to race to the fair because Matt was in the ATV polo derby. We made it and Matt and Flint did pretty good. Although they didn't win they put up a good fight and it was fun to watch. The lidocaine barely wore off when the derby started and then the crying began. It must have been throbbing pretty good because he was pretty hysterical for a couple of hours until we could get home and get some drugs in him. Yesterday it was still hurting him pretty bad and we have had our moments with whining! So although I am grateful that everything turned out okay and his foot will be just fine I want to thank the thoughtful person who decided that it was okay to throw the beer bottle out their window. It was just so nice of you to think of others and the little kids who play outside without their shoes on. Thanks again and I wish I could smack you upside the head with a broken beer bottle! Sorry I guess I needed to vent but people can be so inconsiderate sometimes. It might just look like a ditch to them but to kids it is a playground to explore and find shells. I know Bodee should have kept his shoes on but throw your damn trash in the garbage where it belongs! Okay, I feel better now!

People make me so mad when they litter. I have had people do it right in front of me and not even bat an eye. UGHHHH (A big pet peeve of mine) Poor little guy that is quite a battle wound. Matt and Flint were so funny!! I got some great pictures I will email to you.

Hey,
Moments we would like to forget but will always remember. Next week he'll be back to his normal self just awaiting another catastrophe. Love ya, Jody
