Ahoy Matey! Bodee is four! We had a pirate party last night and I must say it was off the hook! The kids had a blast and I am exhausted.
I made Bodee is very own cake filled with all edible treasure.
This is the cake the rest of us got to eat.

I made this treasure chest and filled it with seaweed, fish, bugs, worms, and snakes. If the kids dared they got to stick their hand into the seaweed and find a treasure (aka a candy bar). They loved it!
I am not sure what Kolt thought of all of the chaos but he definitely enjoys all the attention.
This is what Bodee got from Mom and Dad. It is huge but so much fun!
Bodee enjoying his new slide.
Singing Happy Birthday to the birthday boy.

I gave the entire treasure chest cake to Bodee to eat. He only pulled all the treasure out of it and shared it with his friends. He never even touched the cake.

He was getting a lot of peer pressure to stick his hands and face into the cake but he just wouldn't do it.
Opening presents. He wanted to study every single present and get them all out of the packages. I had to pressure him into putting each one down so he could open another. He got so many cool new toys and loves them all. Thanks to everyone for all their generosity.
Bodee and EJ having a pirate sword fight.
We had a treasure chest pinata. I think Katie initially broke it but we let Bodee have the last swing to really pop it open. Bodee said his favorite part of the whole party was hitting the pinata and opening presents.
We played pin the patch on the pirate. Trevor got the patch exactly in the right spot. I hope I put the blindfold on right or he is very good!

Bodee definitely got very spoiled this year. I don't know how I ever will top it next year. I think I am setting myself up for a heck of a lot of work in the years to come. He got pigs, a calf, fish, a huge water slide, squirt guns, nerf guns, coloring books and markers, pool toys, a beach towel, books, and a toy airplane. Whew, that is a lot of stuff for a four year old. I sure hope he appreciates it because I sure do appreciate all the love and generosity our friends and family give us. We love you guys.

This party was so much work and so exhausting. It turned out so cute and fun though. I really want my children to have wonderful memories of their birthdays. I want them to really think it is such a special day for just them. I know they are so spoiled but I really hope I am not making them rotten in the process. I want them to be thankful for all they have. I know I am so thankful for all we have and I am very blessed to have two of the cutest boys in the world (in my eyes)! I hope you had an awesome birthday Bod, I love you so much and I cannot believe how big of a boy you are now! Wow, four years old already!

Wow, What a slide!!!! I think I might have to come slide with Stran!! Happy Birthday Bodee!!!!! Laura, I think you might have to go in the business of party planning, that looked like such a fun day. Your awesome!!
What a party! I think your reasoning behind all the preparation is perfect...making them feel special on a day when they should. I don't have super wonderful memories of my birthday and because of that it's something I'm determined to do for my kids. And not only did you make Bodee's day, but look at all those other kids that were having a blast. The cakes turned out darling. Those pics better go in our scrapbook so we can show our future customers :)
We want to come out and waterslide, swim, pet the animals, ride the 4-wheelers, etc. Geez, you really ought to start charging admission.
