We sure had a fun filled day! We started the celebration out early in the week by decorating the four wheelers and carts. The kids definitely planned where the decorations should go but Jody and I ended up doing the grunt labor. They had a good time getting into the patriotic spirit and Hannah had a good time with the duct tape.
We dressed all them in matching shirts and they sure did look cute!
This is our hillbilly float. Notice the tin cans dragging behind with orange baling twine. My grandpa would be so proud! The kids absolutely loved being in the parade but they were out of candy in about 3 minutes. We were not even half way through the parade route and I hear, "We need more candy!" They got lots of waving in because there was no more candy to throw. As we driving past the snow shack i hear, "Mom stop! We need a snow cone!" Pretty funny how their little minds think. I could just see us stopping the whole parade until Bodee got his flavor of choice and made his way back to his post. What a kid!
Best buddies.
After the parade we ate hot dogs and hamburgers and did a little swimming. Or should I say skinny dipping. The kids love to swim in their underwear. Bodee will have his suit on and stop and go inside to put his undies on to swim.
I just happened to look up on the hot tub to see Bodee and EJ doing who knows what kind of undies dance. I know his mom will be so proud of him. I thought it was so funny I had to post.
After a few naps we headed over to the park for the 1st annual ATV polo derby. We all talked about participating but the only ones tough enough were Scott and Tracy. They were supposed to drive around a track and hit each other with bats until they popped the other contestants balloons. The last one with a balloon on their helmet won. Scott and Tracy were actually belted together doing this and Scott was driving like a mad man. Tracy did so good and I definitely think she deserved to win. Stupid deflating balloon. Tracy you are one tough cookie!
The guys are already discussing their strategies for next year!
What a sport!
We then enjoyed some awesome fireworks and company. Bodee loved the fireworks and so did Kolt. He was mesmerized for about 5 minutes and then just wanted to play. He is a wild man!

I feel like a broken record when I say how truly lucky we are but I have to say it once more! We are so blessed! Thanks to everyone who helped celebrate this wonderful day with us. We really don't know what we ever did with out you and we love you! I really don't feel like just a mother of two. I feel like a mother of 9 because I LOVE all of the kids like they are my own. And I know Bodee and Kolt love you Lexie, Katie, Jerra, Kartsten, Kenzie, EJ, and Hannah like you were their own brothers and sisters!

What a fun day!!! I'm totally coming next year if you and Matt sign up for ATV polo derby!! I'd pay to see that!!!!
I bet you were tired by the end of that long day, but it looks like a lot of fun! I remember being in the parades when I was younger. We would decorate our bikes. That will be a fun memory for Bodee. Just remember to buy more candy next year :)
