Two Years Ago

Two years ago on May 1,2007 I welcomed this little bundle of joy into this world. I guess I can't say little he was nearly double the size of the other babies in the nursery. I went to the hospital at 5:00 AM and was started on Pitocin. Contractions started, they broke my water, contractions got worse and about 9:00 AM I asked for an epidural. My entire pregnancy they were warning me that he was a big baby and by the end they were threatening a 12 pound KID! I wanted to have a normal delivery mainly because we didn't have maternity insurance and I knew a vaginal delivery was way cheaper. So at 9:00 the doctor checked me and told me he was just not budging because he thought he was too big. He said we could try but he couldn't promise that a shoulder wouldn't get stuck and there are serious complications from that. Matt looked at me and said "The right thing to do is have a C-section". I knew he was right and even though I was deathly afraid we said yes. The doc stopped the pitocin and said he had one more patient to check in on and then we will have our baby in just a minute. One minute later oh I mean 3 1/2 hours later I walked into the OR. It is the scariest room I have ever seen and by far the coldest. They sent some idiotic intern to do my spinal and after sticking me about 6 times, they called in the professional. After that they laid me on the table and cut me open. It was the oddest feeling having them pull and tug on your insides but in the meantime all you can look at is a blue sheet. 5 seconds later I hear, "Oh man, he isn't a 12 pounder." I said that is okay! They wrapped him up and showed him to me and he was the most perfect baby I have ever seen. I couldn't get over how perfect his head and face looked. No cone head, no purple skin, nothing but pure sweetness. I fell head over heels in love immediately.

Kolt has been such a joy to our family and I feel so blessed that this sweetest baby was sent to me. He has such a fun personality and has us all cracking up all the time. He is pure boy and always getting into trouble but at the same time he is the sweetest, most lovable, happiest little boy. He LOVES to eat and will eat about anything you put in front of him. He even licks the plate most meals. He loves his bed and has to take his night night every where he goes. He sleeps a lot and he needs to have june all the time (milk). He loves his big brother and he thinks he can do anything Bodee can. Bodee objects regularly but sometimes I see glimpses of brotherly love. Kolt loves to ride the vroom vrooms (the motorcycles, and four wheelers) and most importantly he LOVES his MAMA!
